As a result of the initiative of Dirshu’s Nasi, Rav Dovid Hofstedter, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee met today with the Gedolei Yisrael, Rav Dov Landau Shlit”a and Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch Shlit”a. During the meeting, they discussed the importance of Torah scholars and various pressing issues concerning the Chareidi community in both Israel and the United States. During the course of the conversation, Ambassador Huckabee said, “I believe that scholars (Torah learners) are critical to ensuring the future of the Jewish nation. Rav Dov replied, “It has great significance when the malchus of chessed, speaks with language that displays such importance for those that learn Torah.”
